A number of our farmer members use the weatherquest service and find it invaluable. It gives them direct access to forecasters for localised weather conditions and this helps them make strategic decisions.
This is particularly useful on 'difficult weather days' and farmers are able to save considerable costs by making last minute changes to their spraying activities. It also helps them to meet legal requirements for spraying applications with wind speed and direction information going straight into spray records.
Our members use weatherquest for potential evaporation and soil moisture deficit figures which give guidance for grass, sugar beet and potato irrigation levels.
All in all, it's a very useful service.
